Responsibilities

Join our Gardener team and play a crucial role in our cloud-native projects! As a Working Student for Garden Linux, you’ll work on building and operating a Linux operating system based on Debian. Your contributions will make impact in the open-source tech world.

In this role, you will support the team in the following areas:

  • Building and maintaining Garden Linux operating system. You will participate in running and troubleshooting build problems
  • Build and maintain Linux packages. You will contribute to maintaining linux software packages and where it makes sense and is possible, contribute upstream to the projects
  • Automate Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines for image builds
  • Research new ideas related to optimizing and enhancing the distribution

What you bring

  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Preferred fields of study: computer sciences
  • Computer skills: Linux (Debian), Programming (bash, python), CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
  • Language skills: fluent in English and German
  • Soft skills: Reliable, positive, open-minded and collaborative personality with strong team working skills
