ABOUT US

Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and everyday civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge and understanding of legislative framework in relation to workplace adjustments, disability support and disability discrimination.
  • Experience providing case management and/or support services to people with disability, preferably in a workplace context.
  • Knowledge of individuals living with disabilities, referral pathways of support, long term medical/chronic conditions and/ or mental health conditions in a manner which is empathetic, sensitive and supports Legal Aid NSW.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, ideally relating to disability and accessibility and the range and scope of reasonable workplace adjustments appropriate to a workplace setting.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Workplace Adjustments Officer provides case management and support for employees with disability and/or neurodiversity who are seeking workplace adjustments to fulfil the essential requirements of their role. It enables the assessment and provision, coordination, implementation and monitoring of reasonable workplace adjustments to ensure that managers and employees are supported to undertake their role whilst minimising any impact on their disability.
