Job Description As our Workplace Relations Manager, you will utilise your legal skills and play a key role in ensuring GYG continues to be a high-performing, compliant, and people-first organisation. The Opportunity Reporting to our Head of Workplace Relations, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things workplace relations — from advising senior leaders and managing complex ER cases to driving compliance strategies and upskilling our people leaders. You’ll partner closely with our People team, legal advisers, and franchise network to keep GYG ahead of the curve when it comes to Australian employment law, workforce compliance, and fair workplace practices. About You You’re a seasoned workplace relations professional who thrives on solving complex challenges, influencing leaders, and building strong, trust-based relationships. You’re calm under pressure, commercially minded, and passionate about creating a safe, fair, and engaging workplace. What You’ll Do Develop, implement and continuously improve GYG’s Workplace Relations & Compliance Strategy. Provide strategic and practical advice on complex employee relations, investigations, grievances, and dispute resolution. Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, NES, and Fast Food Industry Award. Represent GYG in Fair Work Commission matters, conciliations, and external audits. Design and deliver training to uplift people leader capability in workplace relations. Partner with the People team to drive fair, consistent, and values-based decision-making across the business. Manage the end-to-end employment compliance audit cycle (in partnership with PKF). You’ll bring: 5+ years PQE experience in Workplace or Employee Relations, preferably in a complex, multi-site business Tertiary qualifications in Law Deep understanding of the Fair Work Act and Australian employment law Experience managing complex ER issues and external representation Strong stakeholder management and coaching skills Excellent written and verbal communication. Responsibilities
The Workplace Relations Manager will develop and implement GYG’s Workplace Relations & Compliance Strategy while providing strategic advice on complex employee relations issues. They will also represent GYG in Fair Work Commission matters and manage the employment compliance audit cycle.
