Responsibilities

This role is part of a small Workplace Relations team that provides specialist workplace relations advice to People Unit colleagues and supports them to assist university managers and leaders with, employment and workplace relations issues. The Workplace Relations Specialist plays an important role in enterprise bargaining strategy, tactics and negotiations, and in ensuring the implementation of outcomes. The Workplace Relations Specialist is also be required to provide advice on employment and industrial matters to the university’s senior leaders and undertake internal workplace investigations. The Workplace Relations Specialist may also be required to provide some advocacy services for UTS and to manage cases external tribunals and may represent UTS in such processes. About you As the successful applicant you will have extensive knowledge in Employment and Industrial Law, preferably as an employment lawyer or working in ER in a large organisation. You will be an effective communicator who is able to confidently provide expert advice to an array of UTS stakeholders. You will be a collaborator, sharing knowledge with the Case Management Coordinator, People Business Partners, Health and Wellbeing Partners and line managers. You will be a hands-on, practical problem-solver who is solutions orientated. What can UTS offer you?
