JOB OVERVIEW

Due to expansion, we are seeking a skilled mechanical assembler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in reading technical drawings. This role involves assembling components according to specifications, ensuring quality and functionality throughout the process. The assembler will play a crucial role in delivering excellent quality products to our customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques to identify issues effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of relevant tooling and the use of toque wrenches.
  • A professional attitude towards work and a willingness to be flexible.
  • An excellent understanding (and experience) of practical engineering in a busy workshop environment.
  • Computer skills – ideally knowledge of MRP / SAP
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Previous experience in a similar position or industry is desirable

Responsibilities
  • Assemble components to tight tolerances based on build specification.
  • Interpret CAD designs and facilitate the assembly process.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on any discrepancies or defects in assembled products and repair/replace where necessary.
  • Use of hoist cranes for lifting components.
  • Working with presses – removal and fitting of bearings.
  • To work alongside the workshop team to complete tasks as efficiently as possible.
  • To adhere to company Policies and Procedures.
  • Respond promptly to requests/instructions in a timely manner and to carry out any reasonable ad hoc duties requested by the Workshop Manager.
  • Familiar with materials and processes involving Inspection, Crack Detection (NDT), Testing etc., some of which will be performed in-house by an accredited Inspector.
  • Excellence of Quality belief system.
  • Adherence to 5S.
