Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As our Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy body shop, ensuring the smooth workflow of repairs, managing staff productivity, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in team leadership, compliance with industry standards, and effective communication with customers and insurers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Workshop & Team Management:

  • Lead and motivate a team of technicians
  • Monitor workshop output
  • Allocate jobs fairly, based on technician skill levels and availability.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available and used efficiently.

Customer Service & Complaint Handling:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing queries professionally.
  • Handle customer complaints effectively, ensuring swift resolution and customer satisfaction.

Compliance & Auditing:

  • Ensure adherence toBS 10125:2022 standards.
  • Prepare and manage audits alongside compliance team.
  • Maintain all required records and documentation for insurance, manufacturers, and company policies.

Technical & Administrative Duties:

  • Use management systems to monitor job progress.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all repair processes.
  • Assist in budget control, monitoring workshop expenses and improving efficiency.

EXPERIENCE IN A WORKSHOP CONTROLLER/BODY SHOP SUPERVISOR ROLE.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good computer skills. Any familiarity with workshop management systems would be preferable.
  • Experience handling audits, compliance, and industry standards (BS 10125, manufacturer approvals, etc.).
