ABOUT THE ROLE – WORKSHOP CONTROLLER

As Workshop Controller, you will oversee the daily operations of the workshop, manage a team of skilled technicians and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You’ll liaise closely with the service department, coordinating job flow and prioritising workloads to meet company deadlines and maximise productivity.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring technical knowledge, people management skills, and a commitment to delivering with rules

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and allocate work to technicians based on job requirements and technician skillsets
  • Monitor job progress and support the team in resolving technical queries
  • Ensure all work is completed on time and in line with company and DVSA standards
  • Conduct quality checks and uphold health and safety procedures across the workshop
  • Responsible for the efficiency and utilization of technicians within the workshop team.
  • Work collaboratively with the Service Department to maintain clear communication
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to warranty and compliance processes
  • Ensuring all work is completed timely and accurately, always managing the company expectations.
  • Providing job instructions to apprentices in order that they develop the practical skills required.
