The overall purpose of the role is to identify dismantle, report, repair, assemble and test all types of rotating equipment with a bias towards pump maintenance. The workshop engineer will take complete responsibility for specific workshop jobs, the role requires a hands-on approach to other mechanical engineering projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Time served mechanical apprenticeship
  • Water experience (desirable)
  • Previous pump experience
  • Pump and component knowledge
  • Ability to use engineering measuring equipment
  • Knowledge of safe systems of work
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • CSCS/EUSR Card Holder
  • Confined Space Entry training (desirable)
  • DOMS & Water Hygiene (desirable)
  • Overhead pendant crane/gantry crane training
  • Lifting Operations training
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify equipment and book same into workshop maintenance system
  • Clean and inspect components, highlighting any items that do not meet job requirements
  • Rebuild equipment to the job specification/quality plans/OEM standards
  • Carry out testing and inspection to ensure assemblies meet our written standards
  • Report through the evaluation system
  • Complete reports, RAMS, job sheets in a clear and concise manner
  • Identifying parts and repairs required
  • Responsible for the assembly, testing and recording of results
  • Detailing method, material and component required to effect repairs
  • Attend site and fault find and installed equipment, remove and repair as required
  • Provide updates to workshop supervisor advising of job progress
  • Take full responsibility for the quality of work
  • Work in a safe and organised way
  • Ensure work area is kept clean, tidy and organised
  • All other workshop duties as deemed necessary
  • Demonstrate awareness of the technical standard when carrying out your role.
