A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Workshop Foreman to join our Service Centre in Braeside. Reporting to the Service Manager, this newly created role will be primarily responsible for managing the daily activities within our service center relating to the new equipment build process, including technician allocation, quality control, and customer deliveries in accordance with Toro’s polies and guidelines, it will also be a secondary support mechanism for other service related activities within the service center, whilst maintaining an appropriate focus on people and performance goals and cross-departmental customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

Your Service Centre and Supervisory duties will include:

  • Coordinating the incoming inventory to the specific site and ensuring receipt of products
  • Developing product build schedules in line with customer expectation and service work load
  • Coordinating and performing varied mechanical work involved in repair, maintenance and servicing of turf maintenance related equipment, recycling equipment and tractors using common tools of the trade for Toro Australia’s clients
  • Overseeing the quality control process and sign off prior to delivery to customer
  • Working with sales and service teams to ensure correct delivery plans are in place for new equipment
  • Consulting with customers regarding the delivery of machines and follow up issues
  • Performing, testing, repair and maintenance of major systems such as diesel and gasoline fueled engines, hydrostatic transmissions or hydraulic systems.
  • In conjunction with Service Manager, Coordinating the day to day activities of the service center and staff in accordance with established systems and procedures, specific to new equipment builds
  • Monitoring of all new equipment work in progress at any given time in the service center and ensuring all work performed by the service center is of a satisfactory standard.
  • Implementation of service standards, policies and procedures
  • Liaising with sales and technical staff to maintain understanding of product specifications and quality control standards.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance and efficiencies of procedures relating to new equipment builds
  • Ensuring all staff understand and adhere to legislative guidelines and Toro WHSE policies, procedures and safe work practices.
