Description

RMSpumptools is seeking a experienced Workshop Manager located in Dyce, Aberdeen. The Workshop Manager will be responsible for direct line management of all workshop based technician personnel, working with the Production Process Manager schedule all required production activities and distribution of workload to the team on the workshop floor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced in managing and motivating high performing hands-on skilled technicians
  • Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to plan and work to deadlines
  • Knowledge of Artificial Lift equipment and accessories
  • Knowledge of the range of tasks performed in the mechanical workshop environment together with timelines and resource requirements to complete tasks
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering assembly drawings and procedures, including best practice methods of mechanical equipment assembly, torque & pressure test operations
  • Ability to develop and enhance skillset of technical team through direct training & mentoring, as well as identifying relevant external training requirements
  • Good teamwork & communication with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to mentor / share & demonstrate best practices
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work on different duties and tasks
Responsibilities
  • Give input to capacity planning in conjunction with Production Process Manager in working towards monthly budget and client driven requirements
  • Responsible for linked up throughput of required task load to all Workshop Technicians in order to ensure any downtime between stages of material processing is minimised
  • Developing & mentoring team members to work towards achieving “coach” status in the suite of hands-on workshop related disciplines
  • Working with Production Process Manager and the workshop team in development of facilities, including review of tooling / methods of work & work flow
  • Performing risk assessments and permit to work assessments to cover all workshop based operations
  • Conducting daily work scope meetings with Workshop Chargehand / disseminate to wider workshop team
  • Play an active role in regular workplace safety meetings
  • Together with company QHSE representatives, reviewing compliance in regard to LOLER / PUWER / COSHH regulations
  • Maintaining test fixture, plant and asset registers
  • Overseeing routine maintenance requirements
  • Adherence to RMSpumptools QHSE directives
  • Adherence to RMSpumptools job task & documentation procedures
  • Responsible for responding to demands of job (as required out of hours working)
