Our client is looking for a highly experienced Automotive Senior Workshop Manager with at least 5 years recent Automotive Workshop management experience which is an essential requirement for this role. As a Senior Workshop Manager you will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently, to the highest standards.
As a Senior Workshop Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client’s workshop in workshop management and leadership to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the vehicles. Our client seeks your expertise in operations, workshop management, planning, strategic thinking, and leadership to ensure seamless maintenance and service delivery.
This role requires someone who can lead from the front, maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service who has a strong mechanical background.
Your role will involve managing a team of skilled technicians, maintaining an organised and productive workshop, and delivering excellent customer service.

SENIOR WORKSHOP MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • You will need at least 5 years recent Workshop Management experience within the Automotive Industry
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of team development and motivation.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, capable of thriving in a high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification in vehicle maintenance/repair.
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Successful completion of a basic criminal record check (UK and overseas, if applicable).
Responsibilities

Operational Management: Take ownership of the daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient running of the branch.
Workshop Management: Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient management of supervisors, technicians, and admin staff, implement quality control measures and drive operational resilience by optimising workflows, resources, and maintenance strategies to minimise downtime.
Leadership & Performance Management: Lead, develop, and motivate the workshop team, ensuring high performance in a fast-paced workshop environment. Monitor service effectiveness, implement process improvements, and drive continuous development.
Staff Leadership: Manage, develop, and motivate a team of technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Time Management: Efficiently manage your time and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and achieve business goals.
Commercial Focus: Understand the financial aspects of the branch, including profit and loss, and balance costs accordingly.
