Position Title: Workshop Manager – Switchgear Assembly
Location: Abu Dhabi /UAE
Reports To: Executive Manager
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Workshop Manager to lead our switchgear assembly workshop in Abu Dhabi and drive operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Engineering background with 5–10 years experience in switchgear assembly, ATEX experience is an advantage.
  • Proven leadership skills and technical knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to design schematics and drive efficiency on the workshop floor.
  • Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, protection relays, and busbar systems.
  • Familiarity with standards such as IEC 61439, ISO, and local regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic), and ERP systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Workshop Manager will be responsible for the planning, engineering, execution, and supervision of all switchgear assembly activities. He will ensure efficient workflow, high-quality output, safety compliance, and timely delivery of products. He will manage the workshop team, including design, procurement, and QA team. And oversee inventory, machinery and tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the switchgear assembly workshop.
  • Ensure timely and accurate assembly of LV & MV switchgear panels in compliance with international and local standards (IEC/ANSI).
  • Supervise and train technicians and assembly staff.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, panel schedules, and wiring diagrams.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability and minimize delays.
  • Monitor quality control processes and ensure adherence to QA/QC standards.
  • Implement and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Schedule workflow and assign tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend training and development.
  • Ensure effective use of tools, machines, and resources.
  • Coordinate with engineering and sales departments for technical clarifications and product updates.
