    Torrens Transit, a subsidiary of Kelsian Group (Australia’s largest integrated multi-modal transport provider and tourism operator), is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Manager with a passion for exceptional customer service, leading people, organisational skills, and experience with managing a busy workshop environment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications and Experience: A relevant trade certificate and at least 5 years of experience in the passenger transport industry or a similar field.
Leadership: Proven ability to supervise and lead individuals and teams, demonstrating strong employee management, performance improvement, and positive guidance for direct reports.
Planning and Management: Able to prioritise multiple tasks for both self and direct reports, ensuring alignment with organisational goals encompassing sort and long-term strategies, capacity planning, process improvement, and technology investments.
Compliance and Policy: Thorough understanding and application of the principles, concepts, and legal requirements of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality Assurance, and Asset Management.
Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and negotiation skills, including, strong record-keeping skills and proficiency in relevant software applications, including fleet management systems like TIMS and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Operational Management: You will oversee daily workflow of the workshop and managing the work of various trades, ensuring that all jobs are completed on time and within budget.
Health, Safety, Quality and Compliance: You will be a champion for a safe, efficient, and compliant workshop environment. This involves ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures and proactively identifying and mitigating safety risks by responding, investigating and implementing appropriate actions.
Inventory Management: You will be responsible for ensuring that the workshop has the necessary materials to complete its work by working closely with the Workshops Inventory and Administration Manager, other Managers and other workshops across Torrens Transit to ensure efficient and consistent inventory management processes.
Continuous Improvement: You will be a driving force for continuous improvement within the workshop by proactively developing and implementing plans to enhance the workshop’s efficiency and effectiveness that includes the forthcoming implementation of TIMS within the workshop.
