We are now looking for a Audiovisual IT Specialist

Aalto Studios is looking to hire Audiovisual IT Specialist with extensive network knowledge to join our team of audiovisual specialists at the new Marsio building in the heart of the Otaniemi campus. The position is full-time and permanent, starting at the beginning of October 2025.
At Aalto Studios, we support a wide range of audiovisual activities on campus—from large-scale events and professional film productions to international gaming and XR research projects. Your role and goals

• AV-network management, operation, maintenance and development
• General AV-tech support and maintenance (troubleshooting, updates, installations) with the Aalto Studios AV Team
• Customer/user support with the use of the AV facilities with the Aalto Studios AV Team for the research, education and artistic activity needs of Aalto University personnel and students
• Maintenance, development and user support of the appointed studio facilities (XR-facilities could be an option for the right candidate)

Your network and team

The Aalto Studios team includes 25 professionals, ranging from academic staff to AV specialists and workshop personnel. The new Audiovisual IT Specialist will join our AV Tech Team, which currently consists of eight members. We collaborate daily with all Aalto schools, supporting their educational, research, and artistic activities.

• The position requires good teamworking skills as the AV-support in Aalto Studios is always a team effort. We are looking for people, who are flexible and willing to help their colleagues and who are not afraid to ask help from their colleagues.
• The position requires good customer service and interpersonal skills as in this role you will be interacting with varying clients with different experience levels and cultural backgrounds.

Your experience and ambitions
We are looking for a person who is eager to learn new skills and constantly looking to grow with us and our customers. Necessary:

• Advanced network configuration and diagnostics (medium to large scale deployments)
• Solid grasp of layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, multicast, QoS
• Windows and Windows server knowledge
• Hands-on with IP-based AV transmission systems
• Teamwork skills and attitude
• Fluency in English

Advantageous:

• Arista/Juniper/Luminex/Cisco experience or even CNA
• Scripting and automation tool skills (e.g. PowerShell, Bash)
• XR-technology experience
• Unreal/Unity/TouchDesigner experience
• Managerial experience
• Finnish proficiency
