POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly experienced Workshop Superintendent to lead full‑shop fabrication operations. You will ensure that all steel structure, piping, and tankage fabrication is completed on schedule, meets stringent quality requirements, aligns with approved drawings, and complies with applicable codes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 10–12 years in GCC-based steel structure, piping & tankage fabrication workshops.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding processes (fit-up, assembly), fabrication standards (ASME, AWS D1.1, API 650/653), and hands-on NDT exposure (RT, UT, MT, PT).
  • Language: Fluent in both spoken & written English (mandatory).
  • Leadership: Strong ability to manage workshop teams and production schedules efficiently.
  • Computer Skills: Competent in MS Office and fabrication progress tracking software.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the entire fabrication floor, including steel, piping, and tankage works.
  • Ensure timely material receipt, verification, and optimum storage handling.
  • Monitor fix‑up rates and fabrication progress to meet committed targets.
  • Ensure NDT and Quality compliance (ASME, AWS, API, etc.); coordinate with QC and ensure NCR closure.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce HSE standards.
  • Lead and mentor foremen, welders, fitters, and helpers.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, flag critical delays, and implement mitigation.
  • Liaise with project planning and management teams to align fabrication schedules.
