Job Title: Workshop Supervisor – Earth Moving Heavy Machinery & Equipment
Department: Workshop
Location: Sharjah
Reports To: Workshop Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the workshop, ensuring maintenance, servicing, and repairs of heavy equipment and machinery are carried out efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. The role includes supervising technical staff, coordinating schedules, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Experience with brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, JCB, or similar is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematic diagrams.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate workshop activities including maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders, bulldozers, cranes).
  • Allocate work to technicians based on skills and workload, and ensure timely job completion.
  • Ensure proper use of tools and equipment, and maintain workshop cleanliness and organization.
  • Conduct quality control checks and inspections to ensure repairs meet manufacturer and company standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and provide technical guidance to mechanics and technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repair logs, service schedules, and parts inventory.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance within the workshop.
  • Liaise with the procurement department for spare parts and workshop supplies.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and assist in their technical development.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors for field service support as required.
  • Report on workshop performance, maintenance schedules, and equipment status to management.
