Petit Forestier, the European leader in refrigerated rental, are recruiting for an excellent Workshop Supervisor for our Birmingham Depot to assume accountability for mechanics and apprentices to provide a well maintained vehicle fleet and maintain a safe working environment. To work alongside the mechanics and apprentices, in order to develop and reinforce best workshop practices, and monitor the quality of workmanship. To assist in achieving annualised depot maintenance budget whilst adhering to company strategy and procedures. To proactively look at ways to improve the performance of the workshop team. To deputise for the Workshop Manager in their absence.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To handle and process customer defects and breakdowns
  • To ensure vehicle damage is progressed as per company procedures
  • To assist in minimising off-road time for all vehicles and compliance to O-Licence regulations
  • To ensure that all service and inspection documentation is correctly completed
  • To work within and implement a policy of “preventative Maintenance”
  • Procurement of parts
  • Production and updating of workshop and VOR reports on a daily basis
  • Ad-Hoc duties as required
  • To help control the maintenance spend
  • Delegate work to the technicians including Mobile techs when required

CORE AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Effective verbal and written skills, coupled with strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • HGV Class 1 licence
