COMPANY OVERVIEW

For over 30 years, Concrete Grinding Ltd has specialised in upgrading the flatness of concrete floors in new and existing narrow aisle warehouses using our world-renowned Laser Grinder machines. Each year our technicians grind thousands of linear metres of aisle to enable specialist materials handling equipment known as VNA forklift trucks to operate safely and efficiently for clients around the world. Concrete Grinding Ltd is part of the CoGri Group, a consortium of international flooring specialists.

SUMMARY

We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual as a Workshop Technician/Storeperson at our ever expanding, specialist industrial flooring company.
The right candidate should be self-motivated, have a good practical, multi-skilled background with experience in stock control and mechanical/electrical knowledge. As a good communicator, you will work directly with the Contracts Manager to support the operational site teams, ensuring serviceable equipment and supplies are ready for all projects.
We are looking for someone with a willingness to learn, organised, has a positive “can do” attitude, with attention to detail.
Concrete Grinding Ltd works as part of a group of companies and at times the skills of the Workshop Technician/Storeperson will be needed to support the Engineering Department. There may also be a requirement to travel to project sites across the globe as and when required for short periods of time.
This is a key role within our organisation that will grow and develop with the company and therefore provide the right candidate with an opportunity to enhance their existing skills.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in similar role
  • Experience in maintaining, diagnosing and repairing small plant and equipment
  • Experience in maintaining PAT testing records
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience in stock control
  • Knowledge of 12 & 24v electrical systems (desirable)
  • Computer literate
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Methodical, organised and able to work on own initiative
  • Driving license (essential)
  • Passport (essential)
  • Counter-balance FLT license (desirable)
  • Banksman (desirable)
  • CSCS card (desirable)
  • Primarily workshop/office-based role, but will require occasional travel in UK and overseas to diagnose/repair equipment on site
  • Will report to Contracts Manager
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, diagnose & repair mechanical/electrical small plant and equipment
  • PAT testing
  • Loading/unloading Laser Grinder machines, equipment and supplies
  • Checking/cleaning/preparing equipment for the next project
  • Driving replacement parts/equipment to site
  • Assist in arranging haulage/shipments
  • Prepare commercial invoices and packing lists
  • Carry out stock checks and maintain suitable levels of stock
  • Book items in for calibration and keep accurate records
  • Assist in sourcing new equipment
  • Assist in research and development/sourcing new equipment and supplies
  • Maintaining accurate office records
  • Assist engineering department if required
