ELECTRICAL TRAINER & WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN - SOUTH YORKSHIRE

Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Full-time | 35 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading national training provider that supports over 8,000 learners and 3,000 employers across the UK. This organisation is an Ofsted-rated “Good” provider, committed to reinvesting in high-quality, work-based training.
They are now seeking an Electrical Trainer & Workshop Technician to join their team in South Yorkshire, supporting both practical delivery and workshop operations while delivering AM2 refresher training in the central region.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To be considered, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Level 3 Installing & Commissioning Electrical Systems & Equipment (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition qualification (BS 7671)
  • Level 3 in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations (2391 or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable post-qualification or apprenticeship experience in the electrical industry
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn AM2 assessment processes and equipment
  • Experience in training delivery or technical instruction
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic maintenance and workshop management capabilities
  • IT proficiency and good organisational ability
  • Full driving licence and access to a car
Responsibilities

This is a dual-position role combining the responsibilities of a Trainer and a Workshop Technician. You will:

  • Deliver specialist training courses including AM2 Refresher programs to external clients
  • Develop engaging learning materials and assessments in collaboration with SMEs and awarding bodies
  • Provide hands-on support in workshops, ensuring health and safety compliance and equipment upkeep
  • Prepare practical sessions, manage inventory, and support learners on their path to qualification
  • Maintain discipline and provide pastoral support to ensure learner welfare and development
