Flexible schedule. 1099 Contractor Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Wound Care Nurses (LPN or RN) to join our growing healthcare team. This is a high-impact role focused on providing expert wound care in a home health setting. The ideal candidates will have prior wound care experience, strong clinical judgment, and a passion for patient-centered care. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will assess, plan, and implement care for patients with complex wounds, ensuring the highest standards of treatment and compassionate service. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, with flexible scheduling based on your availability and patient needs. As a contractor, this role does not include W-2 benefits such as health insurance or paid time off, but it offers substantial professional autonomy and work-life flexibility. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of wounds and patients’ overall health status. Develop and implement individualized care plans. Perform wound care treatments including dressing changes and application of topical agents. Monitor healing progress, watching for infection or complications. Educate patients and families on wound care, prevention, and self-management. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes. Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient progress. Provide care for all home health patients within scope of practice. Stay current with best practices and advancements in wound care. Requirements Qualifications Active nursing license (LPN or RN) in the state of practice. Wound care experience required (home health experience strongly preferred). Strong understanding of wound healing principles and infection prevention. Familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) related to wound care. Ability to travel between patient homes (reliable transportation required). Excellent communication and documentation skills. Compassion, flexibility, and a commitment to high-quality patient care. Additional experience with pediatric patients, tube feeding, or medical-surgical nursing is a plus. Must be willing to drive through a designated territory as well as have wound care experience.
