JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Uses the nursing process in direct patient care, and assists the staff with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care needs.
• Works closely with providers and nurse leadership to coordinate and enhance the care of patient populations at high risk for complications related to integumentary system.
• Plans, implements and evaluated teaching programs for patients/families.
• Contributes to the development and/or refinement of wound, ostomy or continence treatment policies or care management strategies.
• Leads the development and revision of clinical standards and protocols applying evidence-based principles and recent research.
• Facilitates Prevalence study data collection, education and dissemination of results through Prevalence team, clinical leadership and educational sessions. Provides feedback and follow up along with the action plan for improvement specific to units and results.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license
• Current BLS and CPR certification
• Required: Minimum of three years of Medical Surgical nursing practice with a Wound Ostomy Certification (CWON) or eligible to become certified within 12 months of hire
