We currently have vacancies within our Wound Healing Service. We are a specialist Wound Service focusing on Hard to Heal wounds, working with each patient on realistic goals depending on their wound healing potential.
We deliver advanced wound healing treatments within patients own home or residential/nursing home and within a clinic setting for ambulatory patients. We also work alongside Practice Nurses, Community Nurses and nursing homes offering lots of variety to the role with imparting wound care knowledge across the community.
The role involves working within a variety of settings including clinic, community or residential home settings depending on the patient’s needs, delivering advanced wound healing interventions.
To work as an engaged member of the Wound Healing Service to provide effective evidence based Wound healing treatments and advice to patients who attend the Wound Healing Service.

To have continued responsibility in providing clinical day to day management for the wound healing service, including the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans.
To ensure the provision of high quality standards of care to all patients within the wound healing service.
To provide ongoing supervision and development of staff within the wound healing service.
To work and liaise with other services, organisations and agencies involved in wound management
To provide information to the Clinical Nurse Specialist- wound care about the outcome of patients under the care of the wound healing service
To work within a multidisciplinary and integrated teams to promote tissue viability issues
To actively promote patient involvement within tissue viability and assist the clinical nurse specialist in ensuring that the wound healing services is responsive to patients needs
To use all forms of electronic communication effectively within the wound healing service
Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving license are essential for this role, please note we do not accept an international driving license

Makes direct referrals to vascular surgeons with support from the clinical nurse specialist
To make independent clinical decisions and initiate treatments for patients with complex wounds within the wound clinic setting. For example: Topical Negative Pressure Therapy and Maggot TherapyTo facilitate comprehensive documented assessment of patients with wound care needs
To assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care for specific patients with wound management problems
To have keyboard skills to enable use of the information systems with the service
The post requires highly developed physical skills, where accuracy is important, but there is no specific requirement for speed.
The post holder will be expected to apply compression bandages and dressings with skill.
