Wound Care Technician (PRN) Lewisville, TX About Us:  US Wound Care & Hyperbaric Centers are dedicated to providing high-quality care and advanced treatment options for patients with chronic or non-healing wounds. With a particular focus on limb salvage, we help patients preserve their independence and restore their quality of life. US Wound Care & Hyperbaric Centers promote a multi-disciplinary wound prevention and healing approach. Although non-healing wounds and ulcers are particularly prevalent among the diabetic population, we also expertly treat other surgical wounds and burns, soft tissue radionecrosis, pressure ulcers, necrotizing infections, and many other conditions.   The complex nature of chronic wounds necessitates input from many healthcare disciplines. Our team approach utilizes the combined knowledge of many specialties, allowing us to explore all treatment options and ensure the best possible clinical outcomes for all patients. The Wound Care Technician will be responsible for both clerical and clinical duties while assisting the Physician, Nurses, and other staff in providing care for wound and hyperbaric patients in an outpatient freestanding clinic.  Reports to: Center Director Essential Functions Include: * Greeting and checking patients in and out * Answering telephones and emails * Setting up new patient charts * Updating current patient charts * Perform documentation and filing duties * Scheduling patient appointments * Obtain insurance authorizations * Stocking and rooming patients * Checking patient vitals * Obtaining medical history * Reporting changes in condition to medical staff * Collect blood and other specimens * Providing wound care, including dressing changes, documentation of wound measurements, photos, etc. * Administering medications, including injections * Assisting the physician with medical office procedures * Applying casts, slings, and other wound dressings * Assists with maintaining inventory * Sanitizing and disinfecting commonly used equipment * Sterilizing soiled equipment * Cross-trains as front office coordinator to assist with a smooth clinic operation as needed * Additional duties as needed Summary of Qualifications: * Completed an accredited Medical Assistant program, Associates Degree, or higher preferred * 2+ years of working in the health care field * Strong communication and organizational skills * Experience with Electronic Medical Records and medical terminology * Exemplary customer service skills * If providing support to HBOT, it must be able to be pressurized daily. Must be medically cleared to tolerate pressurization by a physician who is well-versed in hyperbaric medicine (to be provided by USWC upon hire or when need for HBOT support is identified). * Must have Wound Care experience US Wound Care and Hyperbaric Centers is an equal employment opportunity employer.
