WOCB – WOUND OSTOMY AND CONTINENCE CARE NURSE OPPORTUNITIES

Shift - Mon-Fri 7-3
We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled WOCN Nurse to join our community hospital team. This role is responsible for the prevention, assessment, and treatment of patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, and continence disorders. The ideal candidate will serve as a clinical expert, educator, and resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams, promoting evidence-based practices and improving patient outcomes.

️ Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and consultation for wound and ostomy management.
  • Develop individualized care plans and collaborate with physicians and care teams.
  • Educate patients and families on wound and ostomy care, including post-discharge instructions.
  • Conduct staff education and training on best practices in wound prevention and treatment.
  • Monitor and evaluate wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to skin integrity and infection prevention.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current state licensure.
  • Certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in wound and ostomy care preferred
  • Strong communication, teaching, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in a hospital or community health setting preferred.

REGISTERED NURSE REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program

  • License/Certification

o RN – Registered Nurse
o BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of an associates degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Holding an effective Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Must have Basic Life Support certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting the job.
