Position: Wound/Ostomy Quality Coordinator-RN Department: Advance Practice Nurses Facility: Miami Valley Hospital Shift: Full-time 8:00am-4:30pm/ 80 Hours Per Pay Works in collaboration with the Directors of Nursing Services; Nursing leadership team; APPs; Regulatory and Quality Departments. Serves as an active member of committees such as but not limited to the Patient experience and Quality, Nurse Strategy and Nurse Leadership. Develops and implements protocols and performance improvement and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Collects, evaluates, analyzes, monitors and reports data required for clinical service quality and safety evaluation. This role requires review of patient medical records, MIDAS, relevant staff interviews, and appropriate documentation. Provides guidance to employees and leadership team regarding wound and ostomy care. Performs ongoing review and updating wound and ostomy documents such as guidelines and policies. Disseminates educational information regarding wound care to the nursing team through key educational initiatives. Performs chart reviews and audits to support investigations being undertaken within the hospital and/or requested by state, federal and/or local agency and assists in the development of action plans and implementation of recommendations. Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree Additional requirements: § Type of degree: bachelor’s in nursing § Area of study or major: Nursing § Preferred educational qualifications: WOCN certified preferred but not required must be willing to obtain within 3 years of hire § Position specific testing requirement: unencumbered license as a RN Licensure/Certification/Registration · Valid license as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. · Current CPR certification required at the time of hire.
