Services Welfare Officer - Salary of £25,148 per annum which increases to £27,518 following probation. Based at one of the military bases within the UK (relocating to a new site every two years) Want to make a real difference to the lives of service personnel? Hours: 36 per week over 6 days per week, this includes evening and weekend working Location: Based at one of the military bases within the UK (relocating to a new site every two years). Why join us? * A role that truly makes a difference to the lives of service personnel * Opportunities to travel and experience life in unique locations * Comprehensive training and ongoing support * Free one-person Officers mess accommodation provided * Subsidised food and drink * Initially based on site in the UK with the opportunity to be considered to work abroad at a later stage This is what we're looking for: Essential: * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Experience working with young adults * Ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays * Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently * Willingness to relocate and live in military accommodation away from home for extended periods * Full UK driving licence and UK passport Desirable: * Relevant experience (e.g., youth work, social work, teaching) * Experience networking with agencies * Knowledge of the military environment although not essential This is what you'll be doing: * Provide impartial welfare support to service personnel and make referrals to the Chain of Command or appropriate agencies when needed. * Ensure the smooth running of Services Welfare Centres, maintaining high standards in operations, activities, and health & safety. * Offer insight into morale by compiling monthly statistics and supporting the Chain of Command. * Build strong relationships with welfare agencies and attend welfare meetings. * Represent Services Welfare at formal functions, exhibitions, and events. * Occasionally deliver induction presentations and attend training courses. * Work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours support.
