Anticipated Start Date: 8/24/2026 Anticipated End Date (If Applicable): 5/07/2027 Remote Work Eligibility Detail: Not Remote Anticipated Hours Per Week: Minimum: 12 Maximum: 15 Schedule: 8/24/2026 training week begins. 9/2/2026 projects/front desk hours begin. All work will be conducted on-site with scheduled hours including front desk shifts and designated office hours for project-based tasks, and occasional evening hours as needed. Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum: Minimum: $15.00 Number of Positions: 2 Qualifications: -Currently enrolled undergraduate student at UW Madison -Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 -Strong communication and customer service skills -Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills -Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment -Primary availability should align with the designated shift (morning/afternoon); however, some flexibility is required to support center needs across operating hours. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: -Ability to provide excellent customer service in a welcoming, student-centered environment -Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently -Ability to follow established processes and contribute to improving systems and workflows -Attention to detail in completing operational tasks such as reservations, tracking, and communications -Ability to communicate professionally with students, staff, and campus partners -Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities -Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute to a positive work environment -Ability to work within excel and provide some data analysis -Interest in supporting an inclusive and welcoming space for all students Position Summary/Job Duties: -Serve as a primary point of contact at the front desk, greeting and assisting students, staff, and visitors -Support room reservations and space usage by providing information and ensuring spaces are set up appropriately -Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming center environment, including light cleaning and resetting spaces -Complete operational tasks such as tracking center usage, monitoring supplies, and supporting shared systems -Follow established procedures for opening and/or closing the center depending on shift assignment -Communicate important updates or issues to the Graduate Project Assistant and professional staff -Support basic logistical needs for events as assigned -Provide occasional coverage outside of regularly scheduled shifts, as needed to support center operations. -Other duties as assigned Physical Demands: This position requires light physical activity, including cleaning and maintaining the center, wiping down surfaces, and moving or rearranging furniture to support events and daily operations.
