Description Located in the Wy’East Day Lodge, the Wy’East Café offers delicious, convenient meals in a modern cafeteria setting for those enjoying their day on the slopes or bike trails at Timberline. Wy’East Cafe baristas perform several job duties and provide customer service for guests. Baristas at the Wy’East Cafe take orders and make coffee, tea, and other drinks to customer specifications. Wy’East Cafe baristas may also operate Point of sales system. Baristas may field customer complaints or questions, as well. Baristas at Wy’East Cafe also must often clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas during a normal shift. Baristas work to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages as well as complete assigned tasks from management every day. Requirements Responsible for all opening and closing procedures. Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas. Preparation of all food items on Wy'East cafe and/or Y'Bar menus. Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor to include but not limited to dishwashing, cleaning, bussing tables, sweeping and mopping. Clean service or seating areas Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning. Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them. Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions. Receive and process customer payments. Serve prepared foods, such as muffins, biscotti, or bagels. Set up or restock product displays. Ensure prep work has been completed in accordance with established procedures. Other duties as assigned by Wy'East F&B and Timberline management. Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming. Be familiar with mountain operations and events. Be familiar with all Timberline food outlets. Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present. Present a professional, quality image at all times. Regular and reliable attendance. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be service-oriented. Must be detail-oriented with ability to set and meet high customer service standards. Must use proper etiquette while conversing with guests and fellow workers. Must have detailed knowledge of menu and banquet offerings. Must be proficient in up-selling of products and services. Must know and follow all proper service procedures. Must have valid Oregon Food Handlers permit. Must have a valid OLCC required for Banquet service. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be flexible and capable of bending, twisting and kneeling. Must be able to work in tight space with balance and poise. Must be able to work on feet, stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time. Must be able to keep up with the pace of the department demands of the position.

Responsibilities

Baristas are responsible for taking customer orders, preparing coffee, tea, and other drinks to specification, and operating the Point of Sale system while maintaining good customer relations and speedy service. They also perform opening/closing procedures, prepare food items, and are tasked with cleaning various areas and equipment throughout their shift.
