POSITION SUMMARY: Performs radiographic procedures as requested by physicians.  Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from accredited Radiologic Technology Program required.   CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:  ARRT and New Mexico State licenses required.  Basic Life Support (BLS) issued through American Heart Association required, or must obtain within two weeks from date of hire or transfer.   SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of radiographic imaging equipment, anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.   EXPERIENCE:  Minimum one year experience required which can be substituted with clinical education experience.   NATURE OF SUPERVISION: -Responsible to:  Service Line Director   ENVIRONMENT: - Bloodborne pathogen C Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Prolonged, extensive or considerate standing and walking.  Lifts, positions, pushes and or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.  
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is performing requested radiographic procedures to obtain diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. This includes providing necessary care for patients during the imaging process.
