Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. Technologists cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Summary: Performs diagnostic imaging procedures and provides patient education by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation Determines exposure factors and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed in electronic medical records system. Verifies, updates, and maintains accurate patient insurance information. Other duties as assigned. For example, on occasion may be asked to cover at a satellite office. Qualifications: B.A. from a 4-year college or university, A.A from a 2- year college, or accreditation from a 2-year hospital-based program One to two years prior experience – new grads welcome to apply ARRT Registered Must maintain CE 24 credits every two years Required Certifications: Act 34 PA Criminal Background Act 151 PA Child Abuse History Act 114 FBI Cogent Clearance Fingerprinting Ability to multitask Current CPR/AED Certification a plus Must be able to assist patients on tables and equipment and occasionally lift and/or help move patients over 100 pounds Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff Flexible team player Strong computer experience, electronic medical records experience Excellent verbal communication skills Bi-lingual/Spanish skills for interpreting a plus OAA Orthopaedic Specialists has been the preferred choice of the Lehigh Valley for comprehensive orthopaedic care for over fifty years.
