Description SUMMARY Perform quality diagnostic orthopedic X-Rays for the ordering providers; ensures patient safety and privacy while providing excellent customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned) · Responsible for providing xrays ordered by the providers. · Responsible for quality xrays to include correct image, right or left markers, and patient ID. · Maintains proper use of xray equipment, CR and PACS. · Proper use of computer for Business purposes only. · Communicates with the xray supervisor or manager with any concerns or operational questions/problems. · Establishes a professional relationship with the physicians, co-workers and clinical staff. · Responsible for teaching xray students how to perform xrays, patient care, and workflow in the clinical xray setting. · Help clinical staff with PACS to include importing and exporting images. · Help clinical staff when not busy in xray. · Maintains EMR imaging tasks and medical records release form with patient requesting to pick up CDs. · Daily QC of all xrays taken. · Maintain ordering of xray supplies when necessary. · Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Not applicable. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · Licensed Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible. SKILLS/ABILITIES · Perform quality diagnostic xrays · Current certification in CPR encourage, but not required · Strong customer service ethic · Familiar with orthopedic xrays in a clinical setting · Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment · Ability to communicate and document clearly and concisely PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally assist in patient transfer and must incorporate proper body mechanics. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. Employee may be occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to risk of infectious diseases when interacting with patients and/or family members. The employee may be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
