JOB SUMMARY

In partnership with designated Deputy Title IX Coordinators and other university partners, this position will lead campus efforts to address sex-based discrimination and develop a comprehensive compliance program. They will also be charged with oversight and day to day compliance efforts related to the Jeanne Clery Act, ADA, and associated regulations.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

Knowledge of: Title IX and related federal legislation, Jeanne Clery Act, and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and associated regulations
Knowledge of: Gender-based violence and discrimination
Skill in: Policy Development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of a Master’s Degree in a related field.
Three or more years of experience required.Competent in the use of the computer and industry software knowledge required for reporting, filing, tracking and case management.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.

Responsibilities

Serve as the “Campus Safety Survey Administrator” and will be responsible for preparing, publishing, and distributing the institution’s annual Security and Fire Safety Report.
Complete annual free speech report
Coordinate student, faculty, staff annual training (currently 3E) related to Sexual Assault, Harassment, and Title IX.
Oversee Racial Discrimination policy and process.Address Racial discrimination complaints.
Provide oversight related to Clery compliance and Campus Security Authorities.
Prepare and administer annual notifications to students pertaining to topics such as FERPA, Student Right to Know, Title IX, and others.
Develop, implement, and monitor policies, practices, and procedures related to federal and state legislation, regulation, and case law
Oversee the university response processes requiring prompt and equitable resolution of any Title IX complaint including any investigation, hearing, and/or appeal.
Track and review complaints and oversee the investigation process in order to improve processes and procedures, ensure thorough investigations, and inform preventive programming.
Track the implementation of outcomes and maintain appropriate documentation related to Title IX complaints.
Provide campus leadership regarding action needed to eliminate gender-based discrimination and/or sexual misconduct in all educational programs and activities, and ensure that access to facilities, opportunities, and resources is gender equitable throughout the institution.
Develop and implement ongoing training for campus investigators, hearing panel members, student hearing boards, appeals officers and faculty, staff, and students related to Title IX and their resources, responsibilities, and rights within Title IX.
Assist in the coordination of prevention and awareness programs related to sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking, dating violence, and gender-based discrimination.
Maintain the NSU non-discrimination policy and web-presence
Develop and implement on-going assessment of the impact of training, educational efforts, and/or other compliance related efforts
Maintain documentation related to grievances, annual reports, climate assessments, case summaries, and/or case management and tracking
Serve as principal contact for government inquiries pursuant to Title IX and other areas related to compliance.
Participates in divisional and university committees.
Prepare and submit required annual crime statistic reports to the Department of Education
Ensure compliance with the daily crime and fire log requirements
Monitor institutional compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and related federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination and harassment against all protected classes (such as Title IX)
Coordinates other compliance-related tasks as assigned.
