Sigray is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team in developing the next generation of laboratory X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy systems. This is a hands-on role that involves the design, testing, and optimization of complex scientific instruments.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Take initiative and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
• Make effective technical decisions to ensure optimal system performance
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently and communicate resolutions clearly
• Deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines and shifting priorities
• Lead or actively contribute to design reviews and the development of new and improved system designs

Skills

• Hands-on experience in assembling, building, and testing scientific instruments
• Strong laboratory skills with the ability to independently acquire and analyze data
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software systems
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python is a plus
• Experience with motion control systems is a plus
• Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts is a plus
• Knowledge of statistical analysis is a plus

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, or related field with at least 5 years of industry experience; or M.S. with 8+ years of experience; or B.S. with 10+ years of experience
• Experience with X-ray instruments preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
