Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is looking for an energetic and organized go-getter who is passionate about working with kids and teens to join our Social Responsibility team as a Y Clubhouse Site Coordinator. This position will provide oversight and program development for children and teens living in Oklahoma City Housing Authority communities. Under the direct supervision of the Y Clubhouse Director, and consistent with the mission of the YMCA, the Coordinator will be directly responsible for the safety, supervision, leadership and guidance for a group of youth participants during each weekday, focused on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. This is an hourly position, and the schedule will vary based on time of year. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and ensure the safety of children. Prepare and distribute afterschool snacks and weekend meal packages, tracking each meal served on a daily basis. Facilitate accurate check-in and check-out of participants and ensure accuracy of attendance. Implement and execute lesson plans for scheduled program times, which include provisions for safe program opportunities and student’s ages and ability differences. Implement standard-based lesson plans for specified educational enrichment area (literacy, social emotional learning, supplemental, hands-on learning activities) to include provisions for participant abilities. Facilitate positive behavior management techniques and trauma informed approaches. Assists with cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms and equipment. Ability to facilitate one cohort of Getting Ahead classes per year. Candidate must be able to work independently and take initiative to build relationships with community members and staff. Other duties will as assigned within the Social Responsibility department. This may include special events, data entry, and administrative tasks. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must stay current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually. (Training provided by the Y, if needed) Must complete all required Redwoods Trainings within 30 days of hire and renewed annually. Must be at least 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have 2 years’ experience working with children in a program or classroom setting. Interest in working with children and youth, exercising sound emotional maturity, moral character, judgement, integrity and leadership capability. Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances. Safety certifications and required trainings upon hire in accordance with required standards. Experience and training related to youth development programs. Must be able to move freely and quickly through the facility and alternate program locations including indoor and outdoor space. Must be able to project enthusiasm to staff and program participants. Ability to work under occasional stressful conditions and to work irregular hours. Physical requirements: Ability to walk, stand, sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight. Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. Requires bending, pulling, crouching, leaning, kneeling, walking, pushing, climbing, and jumping. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in such a way as to be easily understood by children, staff, and parents. Visual and auditory ability to supervise and respond to critical situations with children. Must be able to move freely and quickly through the facility and alternate program locations including indoor and outdoor space. PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH: Demonstrable experience leading community/agency collaboratives with attainment of SMART goal(s) Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred
