The Lincoln County Family YMCA is looking for a Y Kids Associate to staff.
Employees get a free membership to the YMCA! Morning and Evening shifts available.
Under the direction the Youth Development Director and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA- the child watch staff is responsible for supervising children and leading activities to engage children in play and learning, while ensuring standards of health and safety are met.
Lead educational, age-appropriate and Christian-valued activities for children in the child watch/parent’s night out program.
Maintain health, safety and cleanliness standards of the YMCA.
Provide superior customer service to members and their children.
Implement assigned programming for member and staff children.
Maintain accurate records relating to attendance.
Provide care and supervision of children in the child watch with emphasis on overall safety and wellness
Communicate appropriately with other staff members in a positive manner
Attend staff meetings and complete all required trainings.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 16 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience working with children or in a related field preferred
Ability to work well with children of various ages and abilities
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule
Capable of working as a team player
Ability to maintain safe environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.
Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
Requires bending, pulling, crouching, leaning, kneeling, and walking, pushing, climbing, and jumping.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in such a way as to be easily understood by children, staff and parents.
Visual and auditory ability to supervise and respond to critical situations with children.
Must be able to move freely and quickly through the facility and alternate program locations including outdoors and field trips.
