∙ Reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
∙ Dress professionally and keep the highest standard on tardiness whilst on duty.
∙ Ensure safe operation of the vessel and that it is operated and crewed according to both company and legal guidelines.
∙ Investigate any damage to the vessel, personal injuries of crew and the environmental effects of the vessels.
∙ Maintain all on-board equipment, including machinery, engines and safety equipment with regular inspection.
∙ Adhere to any budgets and the purchasing and loading of fuel, supplies and equipment.
∙ Steer and operate vessels using equipment such as radar, depth finders, radios, buoys, lights and lighthouses.
∙ Dock and undock sailing vessels, sometimes navigating through tight spaces, such as locks.
∙ Alter navigation plans based on weather conditions to keep vessels and passengers safe.
∙ Inspect boats and ships to ensure efficient and safe operation of vessels and equipment and their conformity to regulations.
∙ Records daily activities in yacht’s log.
