FUNCTIE OMSCHRIJVING

What will you do:

  • Develop parametric 3D designs and production drawings in Siemens NX; release and control BOM and revisions in Teamcenter.
  • Run kinematic studies, clearance analyses, and interface controls for moving equipment.
  • Engineer sealing, drainage, tolerances, and corrosion/galvanic isolation for stainless/ALU/composite interfaces.
  • Produce Interface Control Documents (ICDs) across structures, outfit, hydraulics, electrics, and controls.
  • Close out design risks: access/maintainability, safety, weight, power, and lifecycle costs.
  • Ensure compliance with Class/Flag (e.g., LY Code, SOLAS) and internal yard standards.
  • Support FAT/HAT on vendor sites and at the yard; resolve NCRs and shop-floor queries fast.

Profile:

  • BSc in Mechanical, Naval/Maritime, or related engineering discipline.
  • 2–5 years in shipbuilding/yacht engineering or machinery mechanisms (preferably exterior/outfitting or moving equipment).
  • Proficient in Siemens NX and Teamcenter; 3D AutoCAD/Cadmatic is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of fabrication and assembly for stainless and aluminium; understanding of coatings, fasteners, sealing, and tolerancing.
  • Comfortable with hydraulics and basic PLC/control integration (specs, I/O lists, fail-safe logic) in collaboration with specialists.
  • Clear, concise communicator in English;
  • Experience with weathertight/watertight closures, IP ratings, and environmental testing.
  • Basic sizing of hinges, cylinders, drives, and locking mechanisms; FEA coordination with Structures
