POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Yard Coordinator position is a permanent full-time, out-of-scope position in Saskatoon. The Yard Coordinator supports the Yard Manager in the daily operation of the Breck Construction yard. This role assists with yard organization, equipment and material handling, customer service, and safety compliance. The Yard Coordinator plays an important role in maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and security within the yard while helping to ensure that operational goals are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a yard or warehouse
  • High School Graduation or equivalent (not required but preferred)
  • Forklift Operation Certification
  • Skid Steer Operation Certification
  • SCOT Certificate
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a G endorsement - preference will be given to candidates with a clean driving record (driving abstract required)

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with customers, management, employees, wholesaler/manufacturer representatives and delivery personnel
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team atmosphere
  • Must safely operate equipment required for efficient yard operations including forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, gooseneck trailers and skid steers
  • Must move throughout the yard to monitor activities of employees, assist customers, check inventory status, and verify the safety and security of the yard
  • Must assist with the tracking of all inventory of tools and equipment both in and out of the yard to ensure inventory is efficiently handled and monitored
  • Must have knowledge on hand and powered tools
  • Must assist with the maintenance of all fleet management systems
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, and delivery schedules
  • Report out of stock, surplus, lost and damaged items
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance to provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers
  • Assist with site deliveries
  • Report any safety hazards/accidents in the yard
  • Other duties as required
