REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably within a yard or depot environment.
• Full UK driving license (essential).
• Forklift truck (FLT) license preferred — training will be provided if necessary.
• Electrical product knowledge is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks in a demanding environment.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to yard operations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

JOB OVERVIEW: YARD OPERATIVE (SUPERVISOR ROLE)

Join our team as a Yard Operative, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving both indoor and outdoor depot areas. This position combines hands-on responsibilities with supervisory duties, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and adherence to health and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to workplace safety and operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
• Coordinate and assist with loading and unloading forklifts (FLTs), equipment, and all incoming/outgoing deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the office team to ensure timely restocking and order fulfillment.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard environment.
• Liaise with the Health & Safety Manager to implement and uphold safety protocols.
• Resolve operational issues quickly to minimize disruptions to the workflow.
• Promote a positive, team-oriented work culture focused on high performance and continuous improvement.
