Utz Quality Foods is growing in Kings Mountain, NC, and we’re looking for a Dayshift Yard Jockey to join our team! If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and playing a key role in keeping operations moving, this is a great opportunity to join a stable, team-focused manufacturing environment. This role is critical to supporting our shipping and production teams by managing trailer movement, maintaining yard organization, and ensuring materials are where they need to be to keep production running smoothly. Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM to 4:30PM, with occasional overtime on Fridays. Responsibilities: * Move trailers in the yard to support shipping and production needs * Provide empty trailers for outbound deliveries * Support transfers and material moves * Complete daily yard checks and maintain trailer inventory * Communicate with shipping, supervisors, and team members on trailer needs * Perform accurate Yard Management System data entry * Manage inbound and outbound trailer moves * Assist with loading and unloading product when required * Follow all CDL, DOT, HOS, and safety requirements * Report unsafe equipment or conditions immediately * Follow all food safety and company procedures * Support cross-functional teams to keep operations running efficiently Requirements: * Valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record are required * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment * Ability to stay organized and manage multiple trailer moves * Basic math and reading skills * Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification * Safety-focused mindset External Recruitment Process * Easy Application (5 mins): Introduce yourself and answer a few key questions to get started. * Engaging Chat Interview (20-25 mins): Share your experiences in an online chat, highlighting how your values align with ours. * Live Interview: Selected candidates will meet with the hiring manager to explore their alignment with the team and overall Utz company culture. Qualifications * Demonstrated ability to operate production and data entry equipment. * Must follow all personal and food safety rules, policies, and procedures. * Must be able to stand most of the time. * Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 70lb’s. * Must be willing and able to work in / around consistently hot equipment and environments. * Must have the ability to multi-task. * Must be team oriented. * Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. * Must possess basic math skills. * Proficiency with basic hand tools. * Knowledge of safe operating practices involved in the use of lock-out/tag-out programs and food safety. * Experience with general mechanic tools (Allen wrenches, screw drivers, etc.). * Strong commitment to company values.

Responsibilities

The Yard Jockey is responsible for managing trailer movement in the yard to support shipping and production needs, including providing empty trailers for deliveries and supporting material transfers.
