Description Summary The Yard Laborer plays a key role in supporting Beacon Recycling’s daily operations by assisting with vehicle fluid recovery, metal processing, material handling, and scale buying coverage. This position requires a high level of adaptability, a strong work ethic, excellent attendance, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drain fluids from end-of-life vehicles in a safe and environmentally responsible manner Shear oversized metal using equipment provided Assist with yard and facility cleanup using a skid steer and other equipment Provide break and lunch coverage for Scale Buyers in the peddler barn Assist Scale Buyers during peak times to keep operations running smoothly Operate forklifts and skid steers Keep yard areas clean, organized, and free of hazards Follow all company safety policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions This role is carried out primarily outdoors. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Requirements Education High School Diploma or equivalent Work Experience Forklift and Skid Steer operation Some prior experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, or equipment operation is a plus Skills and Knowledge Ability to work safely and efficiently in all weather conditions Willingness to get dirty and perform physically demanding tasks Positive attitude, dependable, and self-motivated Ability to lift, bend, squat, stand, and walk for long periods Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English Attention to detail and commitment to quality work Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 80lbs if necessary

The Yard Laborer assists with vehicle fluid recovery, metal processing, and material handling to support daily operations. This role also includes maintaining a clean and organized yard and providing coverage for Scale Buyers during peak times.
