Chesapeake, VA Yard Laborer  Full Time- $17.50    Givens is Driven to Deliver- both for our customers and our employees. Since 1957 we have provided our customers a single source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We have been growing significantly over the last few years and continue to grow at a rapid pace. We are looking for a Yard Laborer/ Forklift Operator for our Packing and Crating division. You must have forklift experience driving a 30k to 36K forklift as well as have rigging or securing freight experience If you have this experience, we would like to meet you! Responsibilities: * Securing of freight to flat racks and in open top containers. Training is provided. * Utilizing Industrial forklifts to accomplish tasks. * Cleaning out/off containers and work areas. * Must be able to follow direction, work independently or work in a team. * Careful handling of customer freight. Requirements: * Experience moving heavy objects. * Working outside in warehouse yard securing freight to ocean equipment containers (open top/flat rack) for export. * Unloading import freight from ocean equipment containers. * Use of chains/binders, strapping material, tape measures, power tools (nail guns/saws). * Attention to detail. * Careful handling of freight. * Able to withstand outside conditions during the seasons.
