JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Manager to oversee our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing yard activities, ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes, and optimising warehouse operations. This position requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of supply chain management, as well as experience with various management systems.

EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in logistics or warehouse management, with a strong background in supply chain processes.
• Supervising experience is essential, demonstrating the ability to lead teams effectively.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as AS400 is preferred.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving protocols and warehouse operations is required.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.

• Supervise daily yard operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
• Manage the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatch and accurate inventory control.
• Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to streamline operations.
• Monitor Min & Max Stock Levels to minimise down time in yard activities, identifying areas for improvement.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations within the yard environment.
• Train and mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Ensure proper maintenance of forklifts and other equipment used in yard operations.
