We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service and as we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Yard Operations Supervisor to oversee our freight and dispatch operations, as well as general yard activities. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient operations, maintain safety standards, and support our commitment to excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: Supervise Yard Operations: Oversee daily operations of the yard, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of materials, proper storage, and inventory management. Freight Coordination: Oversee freight operations, including scheduling deliveries, managing logistics, and optimizing routes for timely and cost-effective transport. Dispatch Oversight: Lead the dispatch team to ensure effective communication and coordination between the yard, drivers, and customers, facilitating smooth operations. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all staff and visitors. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions. Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise yard staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring materials are accurately accounted for and available to meet customer demands. Customer Service: Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address client inquiries and resolve any operational issues promptly. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on yard operations, fleet efficiency, and safety compliance to upper management. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in logistics, operations management, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in yard operations, logistics, or fleet management, preferably in the lumber or construction industry. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in yard operations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
