Ashwell Reclaimed Timber is the UK’s leading tropical timber reclamation specialist. From our timber yard and mill in Bulphan, Essex, we reclaim tropical hardwoods, repurposing the timber for construction purposes, landscaping, bridges, gates, fencing and decking.
We are passionate about what we do and have the pleasure of working closely with gifted designers, architects and project managers with whom we share a vision of transforming bulk timber into durable, beautiful structures.
Due to our continued growth, we are now looking for someone to assist us in the yard, working with the timber and operating machinery. This role is a full time opportunity, 40 hours per week Mon to Fri, 7.30am until 4pm, with possible overtime, we are able to offer an immediate start for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities to include:
Loading and unloading timber supplies by hand or forklift
Moving and stacking timber
Sorting wood into sizes and types
Transferring timber to the sawmill or workshop
Operating machinery (including saws once trained)
Making deliveries
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and background:
Physically fit
Numerical skills
Positive can-do attitude, and ability to use own initiative
An eye for detail
Team player
Own transport
Chainsaw experience, and experience of working with timber is desirable but not essential
Forklift licence is useful but not essential
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
