OVERVIEW

As a Yard Operative at our Meadow self-storage facility in Bury and Failsworth, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and Health and Safety of the outdoor areas, assisting customers with their storage needs, and ensuring smooth yard operations. On occasion, you will be expected to help customers load and unload from storage units, with forklift truck use. On occasions you may also be required to carry out administrative duties in the office, for which full training will be given.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a customer service or outdoor maintenance role is desirable.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsHaving knowledge of materials and building methods.
Able to work unsupervised and generate own ideas.
Possess a full clean driving license.
Forklift Licence

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducting daily routine inspections of the outdoor storage areas is essential to ensure cleanliness and maintain a safe environment. This includes sweeping the area, picking up any debris, and performing regular maintenance tasks to keep the yard presentable. It is important to report any health and safety concerns to management immediately, ensuring that these issues are documented and addressed promptly. Additionally, the storage units should be organized and well-maintained to uphold both safety standards and the overall appearance of the yard. Regular attention to these tasks helps promote a clean and safe working environment.

• Keeping the yard clean and tidy
• Assisting our customers when the use of the forklift is required
• Cleaning the containers to a high standard in preparation for customer move ins
• Cleaning Van ,Mini buses
• Driving Van
• Pressure washing when needed
• Painting
• Completing various maintenance/ DIY tasks within the facility. Tools are supplied by our company.
• House Removal jobs when required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleaning storage containers to a high standard before customer move-ins.
Pressure washing when needed.
