OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our yard and warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of materials, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and leading a team of warehouse personnel. This role requires a strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes, as well as proficiency in operating heavy equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in warehouse management or supervision is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building and lumber materials.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the role.
  • Familiarity with order picking procedures and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively lead a team and coordinate with other departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities, including the management of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed for loading and unloading materials.
  • Coordinate order picking processes to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Coordinate deliveries to customers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory by reviewing stock levels weekly.
  • Train and mentor staff on best practices for yard operations, including heavy lifting techniques and equipment handling.
  • Complete biweekly schedule.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the yard and warehouse.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
