The Yard Technician is responsible for the efficient and effective check-in, management, and maintenance of equipment. This includes handling attachments, loading and unloading equipment, washing equipment, and performing basic functionality and fluid checks to maintain operational standards and ensure customer satisfaction. Requirements Equipment Check-Ins: Inspect and document the condition of returned rental equipment Record any damages, missing parts, or other discrepancies Ensure all equipment is checked in promptly and accurately Loading & Unloading Equipment: Safely load and unload equipment from delivery trucks and trailers Ensure proper securing of equipment during transport Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and damage Equipment Washing: Clean and wash equipment to maintain a professional appearance and operational efficiency Use appropriate professional grade cleaning tools and solutions to remove dirt, grease, and debris Basic Functionality and Fluids Check: Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality Check and top off fluids, including oil, fuel, hydraulic fluids, and coolant Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the Service Manager General Yard Maintenance: Keep the rental yard organized and free of hazards Assist with inventory management and equipment placement Maintain a clean and orderly work environment which includes sweeping, mopping, empty trash, etc. Complete routine building maintenance as required at the wash bay and shop when needed Assist technicians in the shop when needed or during down periods Meet with truck drivers as they arrive to finalize pick-ups and deliveries, have dray signed (if applicable) QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to use iPad and phone apps for company systems Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of heavy equipment operation Ability to learn and operate heavy equipment such as loaders and excavators Ability to perform physical labor, including proper lifting of heavy objects Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Support all levels of the branch with excellent communication and teamwork abilities Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Previous experience in a similar role or heavy equipment is preferred but not required Benefits 80 hours of paid vacation (prorated in year of hire) 401k with up to 4% match of total compensation HDHP & Co-pay medical plans with 80% of premium paid by employer for employee coverage (other coverages available) Voluntary coverages offered for Dental, Vision, Voluntary Life, Accident & Critical Illness Company provided STD, LTD, and Life Insurance Yearly work boot allowance Company provided uniforms Other benefits can be discussed with eligible applicants Work Details Paid Weekly Work hours: 7am-5pm, Monday thru Friday
