We are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming team in a Year 1 class at a primary school based in Burton-On-Trent
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting, preferably in KS1.
- A thorough understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and phonics frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality support to the Year 1 teaching team, delivering small group and 1:1 interventions.
- Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging learning activities tailored to meet the needs of individual pupils.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and well-being.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and contributing to their ongoing development plans.
- Support children with a range of abilities, including those with additional needs or requiring extra encouragement.
- Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
