KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Strong academic background in English and Economics.
• Prior experience tutoring or teaching senior school students (Years 11–12).
• In-depth knowledge of the SACE curriculum and assessment standards.
• Ability to engage students and explain complex ideas clearly and confidently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable, organised, and committed to supporting students’ academic growth.
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary qualification (completed or in progress) in Economics, Education, English, or related fields.
• Experience with exam marking, moderation, or curriculum design.
• Familiarity with other senior pathways (e.g., IB, interstate curriculums) will be highly regarded.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Year 11 & 12 English and Economics Tutor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide specialised support for senior students as they prepare for school assessments, SACE examinations, and university pathways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver targeted tutoring sessions in English (Literary Studies, Essential English, etc.) and Economics for Year 11 and 12 students.
• Assist students with essay writing, text analysis, and critical thinking in English.
• Teach core Economics concepts such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, market structures, and government policy, ensuring alignment with the SACE curriculum.
• Provide exam preparation strategies, feedback on practice tasks, and guidance on time management and study skills.
• Adapt lessons to suit each student’s learning style and goals.
• Maintain accurate records of lesson content, student progress, and attendance.
• Communicate effectively with parents and Smart Path Advisors staff regarding student development.
